SBI Funds Management IPO: Prepares for Massive July Launch

India’s largest mutual fund company is ready to enter the stock market. SBI Funds Management IPO wants a valuation of around Rs 1,17,000 crore. This value is equal to 12.3 billion dollars. The company is a joint venture between the State Bank of India and a European asset manager named Amundi.

Key Dates for SBI Funds Management IPO – The company recently finished its investor roadshows, and experts finalised the valuation range after these meetings. The management plans to launch the IPO shares in the week of July 13, 2026 and will list its shares on the stock exchanges by July 22, 2026.

Structure of the Share Sale – This public issue is completely an Offer for Sale (OFS). The company will sell 20.37 crore equity shares through SBI Funds Management IPO which is a 10% stake in the firm.

Currently, State Bank of India owns a 61.76% stake in the company. Amundi Group holds a 36.26% stake. For this IPO, SBI will sell a 6.3% stake, and Amundi will sell a 3.7% stake. The company might also plan a separate pre-IPO funding round before the main launch.

Regulatory Approvals and Market Impact – The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) gave its approval for SBI Funds Management IPO on June 18. The company will file its final Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) in early July and will also declare the official price band during that time.

Financial experts believe that this big SBI asset management IPO will improve investor mood. Another large upcoming listing from Manipal Hospitals will also support market sentiment this month.

Financial Size and Market Position – SBI Funds Management is the oldest asset management company in India. The business started operations in June 1987 as the first mutual fund company outside the Unit Trust of India.

Moreover, the firm holds the top position in the Indian mutual fund industry. It manages quarterly average assets under management (QAAUM) worth Rs 12,49,970 crore. This gives the company a market share of 15.4%. The company also handles portfolio management services and other advisory tasks. The total managed assets reached Rs 29,04,026 crore on December 31, 2025.

Furthermore, the firm also dominates the passive investment sector. This sector includes index funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). The company handles passive assets worth Rs 3,99,953 crore. This amount gives them a 29.6% market share in the passive segment. The company serves a unique investor base of 1.60 crore individuals and institutional clients.

Peer Comparison – The target valuation of SBI Funds Management is close to its main competitor. HDFC Asset Management Company entered the stock market in 2018 and its market value stood at Rs 1,17,714 crore on July 1.

Advisors to the SBI Funds Management IPO – A large group of investment banks is managing this public offer. The list includes Kotak Mahindra Capital, Axis Capital, Jefferies, and ICICI Securities. HSBC Securities, Motilal Oswal, JM Financial, SBI Caps, and Bank of America Securities are also working on this project.
