The SBI Funds Management IPO listing gains revealed on Tuesday, July 21. The investment manager for SBI Mutual Fund delivered positive returns to investors who received share allotments. 

SBI Funds Management IPO Listing Gains 

The shares of the asset manager began trading at ₹613.30 on the National Stock Exchange. This opening price represents a 6.85% gain above the upper issue price of ₹574. The stock debuted at ₹610 on the BSE, reflecting a 6.27% premium. A single lot contained 26 equity shares and required an application cost of ₹14,924. 

Bidders who secured share allocations earned a profit of ₹1,021.8 per lot based on the NSE listing price. This listing gain increased the total lot value to ₹15,945.8. The public issue size was ₹9,812.91 crore. Promoters State Bank of India and Amundi India Holding executed this offer completely as an offer for sale of 17.09 crore shares. The promoters reduced the initial issue size from ₹11,693 crore after raising ₹1,880 crore in a pre-IPO transaction. 

The overall issue witnessed strong demand, getting subscribed 41.66 times. Total bids reached 5,18,95,47,480 shares against 12,45,63,536 shares on offer. Qualified Institutional Buyers led the demand by subscribing 140.11 times their allocated quota. Non-Institutional Investors subscribed 22.51 times. Retail individual buyers subscribed 3.60 times their portion. The company secured ₹2,663 crore from anchor investors before opening the public bidding window. 

Prominent anchor participants included HDFC Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential MF, Life Insurance Corporation of India, GIC, Nippon India MF, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Capital World Investors, HDFC Life Insurance, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Fidelity Management & Research, BlackRock, and Norges Bank. 

Company Background and Sector Ranking 

SBI Funds Management started its operations in 1987. The enterprise holds the position of the largest asset management firm in the nation based on quarterly average assets under management. The firm managed ₹12.51 lakh crore in mutual funds and held a 15.3% market share as of March 31, 2026. Management noted in the red herring prospectus that the public listing will enhance corporate visibility and provide a public market for its equity.
