Frequently Asked Question
What are the accounts required for NRI investment in India?
Answer
NRIs need 3 types of accounts to buy and sell securities on BSE and NSE: NRI Bank (NRE/NRO), Trading, and Demat accounts.
NRI Trading and Demat accounts are needed for share and F&O transactions on the Indian stock exchange.
Moreover, PIS and derivative traders require additional accounts. That is, NRIs investing in India through PIS must open a PIS account with an RBI-authorised dealer bank.
